Scams Are Now Here!

Shred360 has just been made aware that the Scams Are Now Here! From our friends at the SC Conference of the United Methodist Church:

WARNING: A scam email is going around from someone claiming to be Bishop Holston requesting funds for flood relief. Be aware that the Bishop’s office will not send out emails requesting funds in this way. While unfortunate, the reality is that there are people who will try and take advantage of the flooding for personal gain.

Please be careful and do not send any funds or give out any personal information without first verifying the authenticity of the request. If you have doubts, it’s always a safe idea to call the conference center and confirm any request (803)-786-9486.

The conference is currently collecting flood relief funds, but all gifts should be given through the conference website or mailed directly to the conference treasurer.
